Virat Kohli is all set to take centerstage as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) takes on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a mouth-watering Qualifier 1 clash in Mullanpur on May 29.
The stage is set to the two teams to make it to the IPL 2025 final. However, when it comes to Kohli, there is a lot more significance attached to it than just winning an IPL title.
He has been the league's highest run-scorer. Over the years, he has been the most consistent batter in the league scoring eight centuries and 63 fifties in the league. Heading into this game, he needs just 78 runs to overcome Sai Sudharsan and become the season's top-scorer. Currently, he is on 602 runs in 13 matches, averaging 60.20 at a 147.91 strike rate.

Kohli has already scored over 600 runs this season, this being the fifth time he has done it in the IPL. Virat also holds the record for the most runs in a season when he scored a mammoth 973 runs in the league back in 2016. That was the last time when RCB made it to the final of the IPL.
This being the 18th season of the league, and Kohli sporting the number 18 jersey, cricket experts are predicting that this might be the year when it all comes together for Virat Kohli. He has already scored eight fifty-plus scores this season. In the league's last game against LSG, Kohli scored 54 runs off 30 balls.
