Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) all-rounder Mitchell Marsh top-scored for the franchise as the season came to an end for the Super Giants after their loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 27 Tuesday.
Though Rishabh Pant's unbeaten ton hogged the limelight, Marsh did his job silently and helped LSG post a mammoth score of 227 runs after their 20 overs. He scored 67 runs off 37 balls and added a stand of 152 runs for the second wicket with Pant.
However, all the good work done by Pant and Marsh was undone as Jitesh Sharma's blinder helped RCB beat LSG by six wickets to book a spot in the top two.

Mitchell Marsh An Outstanding Acquisition For LSG - Aakash Chopra
Courtesy of RCB's win over LSG, the IPL 2025 playoffs are decided. RCB will face PBKS in Qualifier 1 while MI will face GT in the Eliminator.
Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra while looking back at this match and LSG's overall season praised Mitchell Marsh no end. Chopra was so impressed by Marsh's exploits that he went onto say that he has been the best value buy for the season.
"When they were invited to bat first, a new guy, Matthew Breetzke, had come. He is a South African and plays for the Durban Super Giants. He played a few good shots, but then he got out to a Nuwan Thushara full toss. Mitchell Marsh, you have to agree that he was a value buy," Chopra said.
"He is probably this tournament's best value buy, when a guy you bought for less than ₹3.50 crore scores more than 600 runs. He was not bowling now. He will bowl next year and remain with you for the same money. I would say he was an outstanding acquisition," he added.
