Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant looked back at his team's ailing season after the loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Tuesday, May 27.

The franchise ended their indifferent season with a loss. However, the silver lining for the franchise in the match was Pant signed off the season with an unbeaten 100.

Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 118 runs off 61 deliveries that took LSG to a mammoth 227 runs for three wickets. 20 Overs Will Not Save You In A T20 Game - Rishabh Pant

LSG's poor IPL campaign on the back of Pant's poor form with the bat was marred by injuries to key players. Mayank Yadav after making a comeback to the IPL was injured yet again and a few other key players joined them late in the season.

Speaking at the post-match presentation after loss to RCB, Rishabh Pant said that they failed to play good cricket throughout the 40 overs in the games they lost. Lucknow finished seventh on the IPL 2025 points table.

"Eventually you got to play 40 overs of good cricket. 20 overs will definitely not save you in a T20 game and that's been our story. There were a lot of injury concerns before the tournament, that's something that hurt us going through the season" Pant admitted at the post-match presentation following the loss against RCB.

Looking back at the positives of the season, he said that the leggie Digvesh Rathi was among the best positives to happen for the franchise this season. He ended the season with 14 wickets from 13 games. He was banned for a match for his extravagant celebrations.

"The way our batting unit has come up, there have been some special bowling performances also. Digvesh Rathi is one of them, Avesh bowled some crucial overs. We've been getting chances but we weren't able to maintain it for a longer period of time" Pant concluded saying.
