After the England white-ball series, the West Indies will be up against Australia in the upcoming three-match Test series. For the same, the Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced a strong side, with Roston Chase as the captain. Off-spinner Jomel Warrican will be the deputy to Chase. The squad also sees the return of ODI captain Shai Hope and vice-captain Brandon King.
This is a well-deserved comeback for Hope, who will look to continue in the same vein of form in Test Cricket as he is doing in ODIs. Meanwhile, King has earned his maiden Test call-up on the back of showing consistency in the white-ball format. Former WI captain Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the batting line-up, with support from Chase, Hope and King.
Kemar Roach dropped for Australia Test series
In the pace bowling department, Kemar Roach does not find a place. Jayden Seales, Alzarri Joseph, and Shamar Joseph are designated pacers chosen to face the Aussies. Young pacers Johann Layne and Anderson Phillip will complete the bowling squad. The first WI vs AUS Test match will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, which will be followed by games at St Georges and Kingston, respectively.
