Barbados hosts the first Test between West Indies and Australia from June 25-29. The match starts at 7:30 PM IST. Both teams kick off a new WTC cycle with this Test series.
The last time West Indies travelled to Australia, they managed to draw the Test series 1-1. This time around at home, they have a new captain and a young team ready to take on the mighty Australians who are fresh off a WTC final loss.
Australia and West Indies have named their playing XI for the first Test. Australia especially have made a few radical changes, dropping Marnus Labuschagne from the side for the series. Steve Smith is also not available owing to a finger injury. With key players missing for Australia, and a few of their batters out of form, this is a big chance for the Windies to take a lead in the series.
WI vs AUS Barbados Pitch Report
This is a fresh WTC cycle with Australia playing away from home. The Barbados pitch does aid the batters but it has something also for the pacers. Both teams have three pacers each in their XI, which means that the pitch has something for them to aid them for at least the first three days. The first innings will be key for both teams with the average first innings score close to 350.
