Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi at Patna Airport and recognised his outstanding achievements in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025).
Suryavanshi, hailing from Bihar, made headlines during his debut IPL season. He was signed for INR 1.1 crore by Rajasthan Royals (RR) during the mega auction. In his debut match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the southpaw tonked a six on the very first ball he faced, showing glimpses of his talent.
In seven matches in IPL 2025, he amassed 252 runs at a strike-rate of 206.56. His coming-of-the-age performance came against Gujarat Titans (GT) when he hammered a 35-ball hundred, the second-fastest in the IPL history. This also made him the youngest T20 centurion. Â
