Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has shared a few vital tips for Shubman Gill & Co. ahead of India's five-match Test series against England, starting on June 20. Tendulkar, who himself initially struggled to make a mark in English conditions, mastered the art of batting in the swinging and seaming conditions and earned the respect of the England Team and its fans. The former India captain has given three tips for Gill & the rest of the batters to be successful in England.
The star cricketer stated that the batters will enter various phases in the innings, where they have to be careful to negate the swing and later make the most of it while the sun is shining. Tendulkar also urged the Indian batters to leave the balls more outside the off stump and said that leaving the ball is not considered a defensive act.

Sachin Tendulkar wants Indian batters to mix caution with aggression against England bowlers
The former India cricketer also asked the team's current batters to be wary of three crucial factors, namely overhead conditions, air quality, and lastly the pitch condition. During an exclusive interview for RevSportz, Tendulkar said:
"In England, you always keep three things in mind when you play. First, the overhead conditions. Second the air quality, and third the pitch condition. Each one of these factors influences how you should play. There will be phases of play when you will find it very difficult to play shots. So you need to be careful and identify such phases."

The former India captain further stated that Gill & Co. should not play too many glory shots and look to mix caution with aggression by spending time at the crease.
“It is not a defensive act to leave balls. Rather, it is also a show of intent to be able to correctly leave balls and play at the right time. And then when the sun is out it is a beautiful track to bat on where the batters can score a lot of runs.”
The England Test series will mark the first series for India in the fourth World Test Championship (WTC) Cycle 2025-27.
