Jos 'Consistent' Buttler yet again came to the rescue for Gujarat Titans (GT) as his match-winning knock of unbeaten (97) runs enabled an easy seven-wicket victory for the side against Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 35 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Chasing 204, Buttler played a perfect anchor role, took calculative risks, and saw GT over the line. The home side got off to an inauspicious start as they lost skipper Shubman Gill for (7) runs.
However, walking in at number three, Buttler did not let the asking rate pressure get to him and displayed an excellent display of batsmanship without taking any undue pressure. The turning point in the match came when he took DC's premier bowler Mitchell Starc for 20 runs in the 15th over to put GT in the ascendancy.
The left-arm bowler, who came into the match on the back of a fantastic Super Over against Rajasthan Royals (RR), was made to look like a copper against Buttler's assault. From the moment the Englishman walked in at the crease, he looked assured and determined to take GT home.
