There is a very nice relationship between the Indian Cricket Team and with June 20 date. It holds a very special place as a lot of iconic players have made their Test debuts since the late 90s. On this very date in 1996 in England, two of India's finest - Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly made their Test debuts at the iconic Lord's Stadium. In 2011, Virat Kohli on June 20 made his Test debut against West Indies. Now, in 2025, Sai Sudarshan has made his red-format debut at Leeds in the ongoing first Test against England.
The southpaw was handed the debut cap by Cheteshwar Pujara, who was truly a worthy successor to Dravid at the number three position. Pujara played more than 100 Tests and had a good average against England, both home and away. There is a similar kind of expectation from the Tamil Nadu batter, who stormed into the Indian team by plundering runs in domestic cricket and for the Titans in the IPL 2025 season.

However, the 23-year-old could not capitalize on a pretty flat batting deck in Leeds, as he was dismissed for a four-ball duck.
India off to a solid start as KL Rahul & Jaiswal put on a 91-run stand
Speaking of the ongoing first Test, India are off to a solid start as openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal put on a 91-run stand for the opening wicket. Just when the former was looking set, he was dismissed for a well-made (42) runs. However, a solid start from the openers has ensured India has laid a perfect foundation for a big first innings score.
