England are back to playing ODI cricket as they are set to host West Indies for a three-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series in a space of 12 days.
The games will come thick and fast with the first ODI on May 29 in Birmingham. The match starts from 5.30 PM IST with HArry Brook set to lead England. West Indies will be led by their Shai Hopw who is their ODI skipper.
England are placed eighth in the ICC ODI rankings followed by West Indies placed ninth. Both the teams have not had a good recent past in the format. England did not have a good Champions Trophy with the Windies not even qualifying for the tournament. West Indies also did not qualify for the last ODI World Cup in India.

ENG vs WI 1st ODI Match Preview
The first ODI will be played in Edgbaston, Birmingham. England have had several of their players from the IPL returning for this series. Jos Buttler, Jacob Bethell, Will Jacks are some of the players who have rejoined the national team or national duty ahead of the IPL 2025 playoffs. England have already named their playing XI for the first ODI with Buttler back in the side.
The West Indies ODI team are a team in transition. The batters are still pretty young and will need to take up the mantle of the format going forward. Shai Hope their skipper needs to lead the change. Shimron Hetmyer, Sherface Rutherford, Brandon King and Evin Lewis can form the batting force for the side. With the ball, Alzarri Joseph needs to lead the charge. In Jayden Saeals and Shamar Joseph, the side has two young and upcoming pacers who can challenge the batters.
