England Captain Ben Stokes was visibly frustrated after a massive 336-run defeat against India in the 2nd Test match at Birmingham.
Stokes Frustrated by Bumrah Questions, Focuses on Preparation with Coaches
During the post-match press conference, Stokes appeared fed up with repeated questions about Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the 2nd Test. When asked about plans to counter Bumrah at Lord’s, the skipper expressed his frustration and joked about wanting a press conference without Bumrah questions.
"I thought I'd get through a press conference without being asked about Jasprit Bumrah. We play against each other so often; you know what you will face, so you put it into practice in training," he said.
Anyway Stokes revealed that he’ll work with the coaches to use sidearm deliveries more effectively to counter the threat.
"Try to do what you can with the coaches and the sidearms — going wide on the crease, trying to give you practice like their bowling lineup. It's always tough to replicate something that will come down at you in a game," he added.

Stokes Gives Update on Archer, Atkinson Ahead of Lord’s Test
Regarding Jofra Archer’s availability, Stokes said it depends on his fitness and workload management. England recently added Gus Atkinson back to the squad ahead of the Lord’s Test, and he is expected to return to the team.
“Again, it’ll be a decision we have to make, seeing how everyone pulls up. We’ve had him here this week to build him up with his workloads. Everyone’s in consideration for the game at Lord’s,” Stokes said.

Stokes Reflects on Birmingham Loss, Urges Quick Turnaround for Lord’s
Opening up about the disappointing loss at Birmingham, Stokes highlighted that the team failed to carry momentum from the first Test.
“Disappointed with the loss here, as it would have been great to carry momentum from the first game. But we don’t find ourselves sitting here like that. We have to wipe this one under the carpet as quickly as we can because Lord’s day one will be coming round pretty quickly,” he concluded.
