The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has stated that it won't attend the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting set to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on July 24. The decision has been taken into account due to security issues and also due to the current political climate in Bangladesh. BCCI feels it's unsafe to visit the Asian country during that time.
According to a report by Times of India, BCCI has already conveyed the decision to ACC about its issues and has asked the meeting to be held somewhere else. If the ACC does not adhere to the BCCI's request for location change, then the BCCI will entirely skip attending the event.
A BCCI official commented, "BCCI has informed the ACC about its unwillingness to send its office bearers to Dhaka. Everyone in the ACC knows the geopolitical situation in the Indian subcontinent. It is rather insensitive for the ACC to organize such an important meeting (in Dhaka)."

This is not the first time that the BCCI has asked the ACC to change the location. Earlier, also it requested the location to be changed, citing similar political issues.
The fate of Asia Cup hangs in the balance
For the unversed, India are the official host of the Continental Cup, set to be played in the T20 format starting on September 5. However, due to various complications, including political tensions between India and Pakistan, the tournament might be shifted to UAE, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Sharjah.
"UAE has already been zeroed down as the venue for the Asia Cup. But the issue here is whether India should play Pakistan at all. UAE was almost confirmed just before the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22," the official said.

It is also to be seen whether India plays Pakistan in the Continental Cup.
"If the ACC doesn't pay heed, BCCI may pull out of the Asia Cup too," the official said.
Despite the Bangladesh tour being suspended, the BCCI does not want its players to remain out of action for two or three months. The board is in talks with Sri Lanka to host an ODI series.
