After the Indian Cricket Team's shambolic performance at the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) in Australia, which Rohit Sharma & Co. lost by a 3-1 margin, came several series of news leaks. While it is not expected of India to win every series they play, what came as a shock was a lot of dressing room news was shared in public after the series loss. There was news that a certain player wanted to be the interim captain of the team, then came another shocking revelation, which alleged that head coach Gautam Gambhir had blamed Sarfaraz Khan for the leaked news.
Now, according to sources, BCCI has decided to take severe action on this and is set to sack assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, despite the much-appreciated and loved coach being in the role for just eight months into his tenure with the team. However, there has not been any official confirmation from the BCCI's side regarding this massive development.

According to a report in Dainik Jagran, BCCI has recently sent a notice saying any support staff who has been with the team for more than three years might be removed from the role. Fielding coach T. Dilip and trainer Soham Desai, who has been with the team for three years, will also be removed from their respective roles, according to reports.

BCCI not to hire replacements for T Dilip & Soham Desai
According to sources, BCCI is not set to hire replacements for T. Dilip, Nayar, and Desai. Ryan ten Doeschate will oversee the role played by Dilip. Desai's role will be taken over by Adrian Le Roux. Currently, he is associated with Punjab Kings (PBKS). Adrian will join the Indian team after IPL 2025 ends.
Earlier, Gambhir said that debates in the dressing room should not come out openly. The southpaw also had some one-on-one honest conversations with the players, as he feels only performance can help them stay in the team.
"Debates between coach and player should remain in the dressing room. Stern words. They were just reports, not truth," Gambhir said in a pre-match press meet.
"Indian cricket will be in safe hands till honest people stay in the dressing room. The only thing that keeps you in the dressing room is performance. There were honest words, and honesty is important," he added.
